Math 7:  Jags continued with circle geometry and were introduced to parallels and transverals.  Homeworkà Finish Smart Math pg #85.

Math 8:  Jags were introduced to congruency and similarity laws with triangles.  Homeworkà finish page 93,94 in your MMS workbook and the first page in your congruent triangles w/s.

Science 7:  Jags wrapped up mixtures and pure substances.  Homeworkà finish the pure substances and mixtures review at the end of your w/s package.

Science 8:  Jags learnt today about pressure and its applications.  Homeworkà  pg#154 questions 1-3.

Math 7:  Jags finished up perimeter and area problems and reviewed properties of circles.  Homeworkà Finish your perimeter and area w/s ensuring that all your calculations are showing.  Remember in math to show your work! 

Math 8:  Jags finished up parallels and transversals.  Homeworkà finish your parallel and transversal w/s and ensure it shows your calculations.  Submit it tomorrow as we are starting a new topic.

Science 7 & Science 8:  Classes cancelled to accommodate Time Capsule Chest for year end celebration.  Dovetail joinery demoed.  Jags then completed their own practice dovetail joints.  Dovetails are going to be used again on their time capsule chest project.

Math 8- Jags reviewed parallels & transversals and their angles.  Homeworkà finish page 115 section 3.6 on parallels and transversals.

Science8:- Jags reviewed were introduced to the concept of pressure and Pascals principle.  Fluids under pressure.  Homework- questions 1-7  page 166 in Science Probe.

Math 7:  Jags reviewed principles of circles, perimeter, and area.  Homeworkà finish your 2 assigned questions from the perimeter and area w/s.

Wood  7:  Safety in the shop and introductory hand tools lap joint.

Math 8- Jags reviewed volume and surface area and were introduced to parallels & transversals and their angles.  Homeworkà finish page 113 section 3.6 on parallels and transversals.

Science 7:- Jags reviewed mixtures and pure substances and how to classify matter.  Homework- page three in booklet- ‘Pure substance vs. Mixture.

Wood  8:  Class cancelled for sex education.

Math 7- Jags reviewed Area through a competitive/fun  group game format.  Homeworkà finish smart math booklet.

Science 7:- Jags today followed an eight station lab on dissolving, solutes, and solvents.  Homeworkà finish lab report write up.

Wood  8:  Class cancelled for school assembly.

Science 8-Jags had a work period to work on outstanding/late school work.  Jags in good standing started research on designs for their hydraulic robot challenge that they will continue after break.

Math 8- Jags again completed/reviewed E.P.  7 on surface areas of cylinders.  Some Jags moved onto E.P. 8 on cylinders.  Jags worked through to the end of class on problems dealing with surface area of cylinders.  Homeworkà finish page #104 in green w/s. 

Math 7- Jags reviewed Area through a competitive/fun  group game format.  Homeworkà finish smart math booklet up to question# 37.

Wood 7- Wrapping it up, last class of exploratory.

Science 7-Jags reviewed the concepts of mixtures, suspensions, emulsions, solutions, heterogonous vs. homogenous.  Homework finish 6.4 check your understanding questions in science probe.

Math 8- Jags completed/reviewed E.P.  7 on surface areas of cylinders.  Class then continued through prism volume problems presented by students from the last page of pink booklet.  Homeworkà finish volume ‘pink’ w/s for submission prior to Friday.

Wood 8- Wrapping it up, last class as Friday exploratory is cancelled to accommodate assembly.

Math 7-Jags reviewed area of circles.  Area ‘Trouble’ was played to reinforce concept during class.  .  Homeworkà Smart Math page#1 in booklet.

Math 8- Jags completed/reviewed E.P. 5 & 6 depending on their progress.  Class then continued through prism volume problems.  Homeworkàassigned problem to last page of pink booklet..

Science 8- Jags started design and construction of their hydraulic three axis robots they will be building.  The challenge- to be able to pick up a ping pong ball and drop it into a basket 12” from the ground.

Wood 7- Wrapping it up.  Only one class left.  Lots of sanding, and oil.

Math 8- Jags completed/reviewed E.P. 5 & 6 depending on their progress.  Class then continued through prism volume problems.  Homeworkà finish page #99 in your pink work booklet on volume.

Wood Technology– Time Capsule Chest construction underway on Mondays.  Students broke out fir stock and constructed the front and end panels.  Cutting tapers and joinery will happen when students come back from Spring Break.
