Wildcats on balls. Thanks to financial support from parents, and encouragement from Spencer staff, div 6-7 had a successful fist day with a half class room set of stability/exercise balls. Students were assigned partners to share these 'pro health & posture seats' throughout the days to come. Wildcats wrote their Unit 2 test today in Math on Integers, Factoring, Multiples, and Order of Operations. Students organized their desks and portfolio's and celebrated the end of the week and their math unit test watching a BBC LIFE nature film that showcased all the vertebrates students have been studying the past two weeks. Homework--> Find a current event article from the internet or a newspaper for Monday's advisory. Math: Preview Unit 4 in your MMS text. We will be looking at Angles and Geometry in our next math unit. English: Continue to brainstorm your short story main characters and their problems/conflicts they will face. Writing Letter #2 might be on your 'oops I forgot' list of things to do this weekend; it was due Nov 25th. Enjoy your sunny weekend.

Wildcats had Math, Science, PE, Exploratory, and Socials today. Math: Wildcats were given a Practice Test/Review Package. Homework- study and finish the review package for tomorrow. Bring your review package to attach to tomorrows test. Science- Wildcats wrote their Vertebrates quiz today. Protozoa, Plants, and Bacteria left in Life Unit. Next unit- electricity. Socials: Class looked at the history of ISIS, or ISIL or the Islamic state. No Science or Socials homework. Study for tomorrows Math test tonight and get your second book letter submitted Friday if you missed the Wednesday due date.

Wildcat Wednesday a busy day. Students had Math, Science, English, and Socials today. Class reviewed Integers today in Math, reviewed the five Vertebrates in Science, discussed Narrative hooks, wrote a vocab quiz, and read 'the visitor' during English. Homework-->Math: review unit two in preparation for Fridays unit test: suggested you look over the unit review 'show what you know" Science: review the vertebrates for tomorrows quiz on vertebrates--> Fish, Mammals, Reptiles, Amphibians, and Birds. English- homework- finish your 'Visitor' RC questions and continue brainstorming and working your short story draft.

Ruby Tuesday. Wildcats had Math, Science, French, and PE today. During Math students reviewed Order of Operations (BEDMAS). Homework- finish your order of operations exercise. Science- students started constructing their Vertebrates review/cheat sheets; no homework but reviewing the facts is a good idea. French- Wildcats were introduced to possessive adjectives my, your, his, her, our, your, and their. No homework but reviewing the concepts learnt is never a bad idea.

Wildcat Monday. Students had Math, Science, English, Art, and Exploratory today. Students spent math class investigating 'order of operations' with BEDMAS. Homework-- finish BEDMAS exercise (pg#40). In Science students reviewed the characteristics of Fish and crafted fish questions and answers to aid in review. During English students brainstormed 'considerations in creating a character' and read a short story about a penny. Homework- start crafting your main character for your story and review your 'D' words vocab for tomorrows vocab quiz.

Wildcat Wednesday. Wildcats had Math, Science, Socials, English and Art today. Wildcats during Science were introduced to their last vertebrate, Fish. In Math students wrote a LCM and GCF quiz that gauged students grasp of factoring. During Socials Wildcats finished their world religion charts, and in English Wildcats were introduced to the concept of Theme in stories, and the idea that all stories need problems or conflict. Homework- bring your agenda to class tomorrow signed by your parents (agendas are being checked weekly on Thursdays for signatures) and compile a list of 'problems in fiction' as a first step towards students figuring out their short stories.

Wildcats had PE, Math, Science, and Socials today. Students reviewed GCF and LCM today during math and should prepare for a LCM and GCF quiz tomorrow. Wildcats reviewed birds with some birds trivia, and researched worlds religions during socials. Homework- finish the fish, and boy/girls problems on page 68 of your MMS textbook, and create a list of items important for making 'good fiction' or stories.

Wildcats had Math, Science, Socials and PE Friday. Students reviewed multiples and factors during math and ended class with a quiz on multiples and factors. Science- Wildcats finished their 'bird' required class work. Socials- the last UN presentations were undertaken. No Homework this weekend for Wildcats on top of their game. Recommended- a self directed review of multiples and factors and catching up on late work -the Math unit assignment "At the Apiary" that was due Friday. Many students will be handing this in on Monday.

Organization Thursday. Wildcats had a more thorough organization check of their binders, desks, and bank/portfolios. Students were told that they need to have their agendas signed once a week and that during 'organization' Thursday they'll be required to show proof of a parent signature from the past week. Wildcats had Math, Science, English, and PE today. Homework: Math- Finish your practice quiz at home tonight. Science: Review 'birds' concepts from today. Tomorrow will be our last period devoted to this vertebrate.

Wildcats were treated to a beautiful Remembrance Day assembly Tuesday. Homework: Wildcats have four math questions on multiples and factors to complete for Thursday (questions 6, 7, 8, 9). Final copies of wildcats first poems, and a wrap up of the UN mini presentations should be noted for Thursday too. Enjoy your day off.

Wildcat Monday. Wildcats had Math, Science, English, and Art today. Wildcats explored the world of Multiples and Factors during Math. Homework- finish questions 3-14 on your multiples and factors exercise handout. Science- Wildcats explored the world of Amphibians today. Homework- finish your amphibian questions if you didn't get them done during class (most finished). English- Wildcats started a longer short story they read together as a class about a father and son at a boy scouts function that they will finish tomorrow. Homework- have your conflict and resolution skit and your poem ready for later this week, on Thursday Nov 12. Wildcats decorated a Remembrance day wreath for tomorrows assembly to end the day.

Wildcats had English, Science, French, PE, and Music today. Restitution and bullying was discussed today in advisory. During English students read a short story about bullying. Reptiles were introduced during Science. Homework: Math- Page 22 in your MMS homework book. English: Study for 'C' words quiz tomorrow.

Wildcats had PE, Math, Computers, and Socials today. Math: Students reviewed multiplication and division with decimals and were introduced to multiples. PE: Students did their weekly fitness test and then played alley ball. Computers: Lab was booked for students to research and type up assignments of their choice. Socials: We had three presentations today on the UN. Student audience participated with adjudication forms they filled out after each presentation. Homework: Math- MMS practice and homework booklet page 20. Science: Study for invertebrates quiz tomorrow and remember your purple 'cheat' sheets. Craft two questions with answers on invertebrates, and we use your questions tomorrow or later on a unit review. Remember to bring in your progress reports signed by your parents that went out Thursday last week.
