Science 7—Class
discussed the move in the US to increase fracking as a means to limit
dependence on Alberta tar sands. Pros
and Cons and a chart were completed.
Class ended discussing how this all ties into the Carbon cycle. What carbon is and how it cycles was
discussed. Class ended watching clip on
Carbon cycle (4minutes). HomeworkàRemember to bring
pencil crayons or felts for coloring your diagrams tomorrow. Also finish lab reports on Fridays worm lab
and previous Fridays yeast lab if not already complete. Remember labs are to have the following: question, hypothesis, materials, procedure,
data chart, graph, analysis, conclusion.
Math 7: Students completed were taught how to
demonstrate integer subtraction using number lines. A review of BEDMAS and order of operations
with integers was also covered.
Homework- WB page 42 and W/S “Why is the nose in the middle of your
face”.
Math 8: Class completed an order of operations or
BEDMAS review. Exponents were introduced
and their place in the order of operations was stressed. Homeworkà
finish exponents worksheet.
Science 8- Students had an additional 15 min to finish
last week’s chapter 1 quiz. Quizzes were
marked in class. Jags then transitioned
into learning more about the digestive system than the small chart of data
provided in their texts. Homeworkà Finish lab reports; should be done by latest, Thursday Oct 23.
