Science 8:  Jags looked at 7 different geologic regions noting their differing geology, vegetation, and weather.  Homeworkà finish up your rock lab report and your geology station notes.

Math 8- Algebra with fractions was delved into.   Group work and teacher led demonstrations.  Homeworkà finish questions 1-4 in your white algebra w/s. (combined operations)

Math 7- Students looked at Median, Range, Mode, and Mean again.  Homeworkà ensure you understand and have completed pages 155 &157 in your workbook. 

Wood 7:  Birdhouses, model houses, mirror frames, and cutting boards under construction.

Science 7:  Jags had a rock identification lab today.  Six stations with 20 rock samples.  Homework- finish your rock Identification report for Monday May, 4.

Math 8- Algebra with fractions was delved into.   Group work and teacher led demonstrations.  Homeworkà finish questions 1-7 in your salmon colored algebra w/s.

Math 7:  Jags reviewed sections II and III of their geometry unit test.  The remainder of class was used to discuss data management.  Mean, mode, median and range were introduced.  Homework pages 155 and 157 in MMS workbook.

Wood 7:  Birdhouses, cutting boards, model houses, and mirror shelves under construction.

Math 8:  Jags continued with Algebra today.  Students worked on a range of practice exercises dependent upon their understanding.   Isolating and solving equations was stressed today.  Homeworkà finish blue algebra w/s package for Monday.

Science 8:  Jags discussed the physical geologic regions of North America.  Regions interaction with water was emphasized.  Homeworkà finish your two assigned regions for Monday.

Math 7:  Jags wrote their geometry test.  Up next:  Data, Statistics, and Graphing.  No homework.

Math 8:  Jags continued with Algebra today.  Students worked on a range of practice exercises dependent upon their understanding.  Degrees of polynomial, the distributive law, and collecting like terms was stressed.  Homeworkà finish green algebra w/s package.

Science 7:  Jags discussed minerals in rocks and how to differentiate rocks.  Homeworkà finish rock cycle diagram, and read pages 178-183 in your text, and answer CYU 1-4.

Math 8:  Jags continued with Algebra today.  Students worked on a range of practice exercises dependent upon their understanding.  Degrees of polynomial, the distributive law, and collecting like terms was stressed.  Homeworkà Finish Pink Algebra w/s- overdue! & finish your assigned algebra problems from the green algebra w/s.

Math 7:  Jags were introduced to the coordinate system, and statistics.  Homework- w/s on statistics.

Science 7:  Jags discussed the rock cycle & plate tectonics.  Homeworkà finish rock cycle diagram for tomorrow.

Science 8:  Water cycle chapter 7 review today.  Homeworkà finish your assigned chapter 7 review questions.

Math 8:  Jags continued with Algebra today.  Students worked on a range of practice exercises dependent upon their understanding.  Degrees of polynomial, the distributive law, and collecting like terms was stressed.  Homeworkà Finish Pink Algebra w/s- overdue! & finish your assigned algebra problems from the green algebra w/s.

Math 7:  Jags were introduced to transformations today.  The difference between a translation, reflection, and rotation was grasped.  Homework- finish pink w/s on translations.


Time Capsule Project Afternoon:  Select students were busy painting the time capsule project that has been coming together over the spring.  The remaining students took advantage of the sun and played box soccer.

 Math 7: Jags continued studying volume, surface area with Triangular prisms.  Congruency and similar triangles was also introduced.   Homeworkà finish your assigned triangle congruency questions.

Science 8:  Hydraulic robots construction.   Homeworkà document your progress for this project.

Science 7:  Class introduced to new unit on Geology.  Class discussed the earth’s crust & plate tectonics, earthquakes, and the rock cycle.

Science 7:  Jags completed a lab intended to get them better acquainted with the microscope.  Jags viewed overhead rulers and the letter ‘e’ under the three magnifications.  Homeworkà finish lab report write up for Monday April 13.

Science 8:  Jags reviewed their chapter 5 fluids quizzes.  They then zoomed out their thinking to construct a systems chart on the different branches of Science they have studied so far.  Homeworkà read pages 192-198 in science probe and complete CYU on page 198.

Math 7: Jags continued studying volume and surface area.  Homworkà finish your assigned question in the volume & surface area w/s.

Math 8:  Jags were introduced to their next math unit of study- algebra.  Homeworkà finish pages 1 &2 in your pink algebra w/s.

Wood 7:  Birds Bird House.  Some already nearing completion.

Math 7:  Jags continued with circle geometry and continued with parallels and transverals.  Homeworkà Finish Smart Math pg #88.

Math 8:  Jags continued with congruency and similarity laws with triangles.  Homeworkà study for unit test; complete mms unit review on page #73 & create a reference sheet.  You need to be able to calculate surface area and volume of prisms, cylinders, cones, and spheres, how to find angles in parallels and transversals, and congruency.

Science 8:  Jags completed chapter 5 review on fluids.  Homeworkà study for chapter 5 quiz on Tuesday April 7.

Wood 7:  Shop safety- Planer and Router covered today.  Jags then broke out stock for start of Bird’s Bird House.
