Wildcats had Math, Science, Socials, Exploratory, and Art today.  Homework:  Math- finish your "Outrageous Outfits" equivalent fractions exercise for tomorrow.  Science- class investigated series, and parallel circuits today.  For tomorrow- ensure you have the six comprehension questions on series and parallel circuits in the red box.  Socials- Tuesday March 8, is scheduled for Care Café.  If you're creating a website or making a movie you probably need to spend some time at home to get it ready.  Only a week away!  Art- Wildcats ended the day with 'Monkey Business'.  Each student had to draw a monkey and pastel their monkey with only 4 colors (complementary colors suggested).  English- Vocab quiz tomorrow on the 'H' words we've explored- you probably should look over your notes prior!

Thursday night homework-->  Math- do questions 6-12 on reducing fractions.  English--> get your persuasive paragraph ready for tomorrow and any other late writing assignments too (Hero, Crime Scene, News Article).  Socials--> start crafting your "Visual Presentation" due Mar 8th (Tuesday), for the "We Care Cafe".  Students have been investigating "How where you are born affects your rights as a child" and now are to share their thinking.  We'll be in the lab working on this over the next several days but starting getting your ideas.

Wildcat Homework:  Math- Finish first 6 questions on reducing fractions.  Be ready for a small quiz on converting between fractions, percent, and decimals tomorrow.  English- Lit circles summative reports are due Friday; pick between 1) CSI  2) Song + Album cover 3) or old fashioned book report (I provide the template).

Wildcats had PE, Exploratory, Math, Socials, and English today.  Homework-->  Math:  Finish the blue fractions exercises.  English--> Persuasive Paragraph is due this week and might require some time at home to finish.  If you don't have in your 'hero' paragraph your news article or your crime scene descriptive paragraph then you need to catch up!  Rock Climbing Field Trip Money--- Many of you still need to bring in your $5 fee.

Wildcats had Math, Science, Exploratory, Socials, and Art today.  Students continued their study of fractions in math and also were introduced to some Mental Math from Mr.Smith's Pro D.  Homework- Finish up to question 40 on your blue fractions exercise.  Science- class investigated electric current and batteries.  Homework- get in your 6 questions on the topic for tomorrow.  Socials-  Class continued to investigate the "rights of children".  Homework- Ensure you have 4 maps submitted- Canada, North America, BC, and USA.  If not you should be looking at these for homework.  Art- Class was introduced to their next art piece- drawing 'Trees at Sunset" with pastels.

Wildcats had Math, Science, Socials, PE, and Exploratory today.  Homework for Monday- No school tomorrow.  Math- finish up to question #32 in your blue MathSmart exercise on fractions.  English- make sure you're on pace to finish your novel in the next few days.  Wildcats have their final novel summative task due Friday Feb 26.  Persuasive paragraphs writing started this week and will wrap up next week on the Friday as well.  Most students have outstanding/missing work that showed up on their progress reports given out last week that they can be working to catch up with.  Ensure you've got your Hero, News Article, and Crime Scene paragraphs all in as they are past due now.  Socials- make sure you're keeping up with the assigned mapping tasks along with the "Rights of Child' article tasks.  Students should now all have 2 "Think Wonder Color Symbol" graphic organizers complete for Socials along with complete maps of North America, Canada, BC, and USA by now.  Get your missing work in as Term 2 reports go out in less than a month now!

Wildcats Wednesday Homework--> Math--finish up to question 14 on your blue fractions exercise h/o.

Wildcats had PE(volleyball), Exploratory, Socials, and Science today.  Homework-->  finish your fractions exercise "Martha's Brain" for tomorrow.  Also put in some time with assignments with due dates creeping up or with tasks that are overdue that you've missed.  Remember to bring in your progress reports signed and your $5 for Rock Climbing fee.

Wildcats had Math, Science, Exploratory, and Art today.  Wildcats explored fractions in Math with a card game "Reduce It", continued building and wiring and programming their robots during Science, and painted Picaso Dogs during art class.  Homework- finish your Fractions Ultimate workout (yellow exercise) for tomorrow. 

Wildcats had Science, French, Computers, P.E., and Exploratory today.  Homework- Study- 2 small quizzes tomorrow.  French quiz on 8 Kitchen Vocab terms and RE verb conjugation and a "G" word quiz during Language Arts.  Remember to get your Integrade class Progress Reports signed and brought back to class for tomorrow.  ****Bring in your Rock Climbing fee of $5 ASAP****

Wildcats had English, Science, Computers, Math, and First Nations studies today.  Class worked on descriptive writing in Language Arts, (Descriptive Paragraph is due Monday Feb 15) and Fractions in Math.  Homework- EP 1 Fractions.  Electricity, conductors, insulators, and the flow of electricity were discussed in Science today.  Science homework- finish the six electricity questions for tomorrow (written on whiteboard).  Wildcats ended the day with a special treat in the foods room with the making of first nations clam patties.

Wildcats had PE, Exploratory, Math, and Science today.  Students were introduced to comparing fractions to percent and decimals.  Science- students continued constructing/wiring their switches for their robots.  Homework- Math- finish your "percent, fraction, decimal" comparison chart for tomorrow.

Wildcats had Math, Science, Computers, and PE today.  Students revisited comparing mixed and improper fractions in math.  Homework- page 62,63 Fractions Exercises for Tuesday Feb 9.  Science- class continued with its Robot activity with some electricity reading on how electricity is created and its different forms.  Two partnerships successfully finished wiring their control boards to their motors.  During computer lab time Wildcats worked on their writing assignments (News Article due Wed Feb 10, and their overdue "Hero" for some, along with some mapping for socials.  English- continue reading your literature circle novels and documenting your thinking in your log booklets.  Have your 'News Article' well thought out as its due Wednesday next week and your Hero is overdue.  Socials- finish your BC map over the weekend if you didn't manage to finish it today.

Wildcats had Exploratory, PE, Math, Science, and French today.  Math- class reviewed their unit tests they wrote yesterday on Measurement and Transformations.  Math H/W- finish your unit project on Page #324 (Transformations) if you didn't get it in already and finish page MMS W/B pg# 60 on introduction to fractions.  French- finish your "In the City/ En Ville" exercises for tomorrow.  Science- No homework.  Socials- Map of BC is due tomorrow.  English- News Article task is due Wed Feb 10.

Wildcat Wednesday.  Class had Math, Science, English, a computer lab visit, and Art.  Wildcats had their Measurement and Transformations unit test today in math, continued with Literature Circles and news article constructions in English, and continued construction of their robot switches from scrap metal, wood, bolts, and wire.  Homework- Math- Fractions MMS workbook pg#60 assigned on Monday, and get in your other outstanding assignments! (Hero, Math Quilt Blocks, Maps, Racism Assign.)  **Please remember your rock climbing field trip fee of $5.

Wildcats had PE, Exploratory, Math, Science, and First Nations Tea making today.  Homework:  1) Bring your $5 for rock climbing! 2) Study for your measurement &  transformations test in math tomorrow.  You should be able to calculate perimeter, area, volume, and know your transformations.  Many Wildcats still need to hand in their "Hero" write ups and their maps of Canada which are now OVER DUE.  Science- bring to class any old computer mice and any source of small gauge wire (check with your parents first!!!) for wiring up the robots.  Students finished their "Hero" write up were introduced to their next writing task- Writing a News Article.  Wildcat news articles are due at the end of next week.  English- Read your literature circle novel and complete you logs (page of quote and your thinking on it).  If you've finished a novel complete one of the three summative tasks explained in class:  1) CSI- color symbol image 2) book report- format template provided 3) write a song and make an album cover that represents your novel.
