Apologies for the delay in getting this out; parent teacher interviews took priority last night. Students had a half day.
Science 8- Jags
had their weekly computer lab time to correlate their survey data into graphs
using Microsoft excel or Google spreadsheets.
Class ended with an applied math- science challenge to end the week
with. Students had 30 minutes of build
time to construct with a partner a straw bridge to span 40 cm and hold as much
weight as possible. The winning bridge
held 4 lbs with a few that made it to 3.5 lbs.
Homework—finish blue w/s on respiration and circulation for Monday Nov
24, and your global warming survey and correlated graph is due Wednesday Nov
26. Next week we’ll tackle excretion
and might start looking at the immune system.
Math 8- Students again reviewed division of mixed fractions and had 3 problems
to solve in class that involved both multiplication and division of
problem. Identifying what the word
problems are asking for was reviewed and stressed. HomeworkàOverdue
now- Pink Booklets should be done for Monday.
In addition complete questions 4-10 on page 145 and questions
3-15 on page 151 of your Ma Makes Sense texts.
